Locks are available in two basic formats. Mortise locks or
tubular locks.
Mortise Locks
Mortise Locks require a lock box similar to the one shown to be
embedded into the edge of the door. This type of locking
system is used on higher end locks and usually requires a
carpenter to install. The cost of the hardware and the
cost of installation are higher than that of an identical
tubular set. Every set we sell comes with the necessary
installation instructions.
Tubular Locks
The standard setup today now includes the prep seen in the image
shown here. This requires a 2-1/8" diameter through the door
bore and a 1" diameter bore through the edge of the door for each
latch on the door. Entry Sets typically use two latches (1 -
deadbolt & 1- passage). Every set we sell comes with the
necessary installation instructions.
